Woke up this morning to the release of AERIS Magazine’s December 2011 issue! As I’ve been working on a short piece for the magazine in the past month, it’s terribly exciting to see it getting published and released! We went to Sails Restaurant at McMahon’s Point on my second last day at work. The first time I went to this restaurant was actually on Melbourne Cup Day, and I have fell in love with it ever since. Apart from having great food, the restaurant is also wonderful in location - it is literally next to water, overlooking the beautiful Sydney Harbour Bridge and the equally world-renowned Opera House.

I had Regal King Salmon with green tea noodles, spring greens, shiitake mushrooms, daikon and dashi broth and on Melbourne Cup Day I had Roast Grimaud Duck Breast with chorizo, beluga lentils, apple and oregano. Both absolutely delicious.

Caught up with the girls the other night at Bel Mondo. I found the dessert particularly amazing - Dark phocolate & pistachio mille-feuille with burnt meringue, brioche croutons & vanilla bean ice-cream. I simply loved the overall texture of the dish - the spongy mille-feuille, paired with the crunchy croutons, the frothiness of the meringue and finished it off with the velvety smooth ice-cream. The aftermath left me wanting more…
